In 2009, 877 Pierce County families were homeless. But there’s hope, especially in Pierce County, where an effort, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is under way to plan Pierce County’s response to this calamity.
An op-ed written by Alice Shobe, Deputy Director of Building Changes, and Michael Mirra, Executive Director of the Tacoma Housing Authority, was published by The News Tribune on September 23rd. It highlights the work being done in Pierce County to end family homelessness.
